If you're interested in applying to An She, it is in your best interest to read both the
About An She page as well as the
Guild Constitution. If you're still interested in applying, this page should help to familiarize you with the expectations we have for applicants, as well as the details of the application process.
Expectations:
Overall, we expect our raiders to be mature, highly competitive, analytical, proactive, and dedicated, while at the same time remaining humble and patient.
Knowledge
Keeping up to date on the latest developments for your class and for the current content is critical in progression. There are multitudes of information hoards online for every class; if you don't take the time to utilize them, don't expect us to take the time to teach you. You should be aware of the situational usefulness of your entire arsenal of abilities - taking advantage of infrequently used abilities in critical situations separates great players from good players. Likewise, accumulate information on every fight before raid - learn the abilities, watch videos, and brainstorm potential strategies.
Performance
Raid performance must be competitive; if you are not performing up to par, you should take steps to diagnose and address the issue. Raid slots are all performance-based and raiders understand that guild tenure does not guarantee raid spots. Additionally, when mistakes are made, it's important that raiders take responsibility for them; owning up to them up front will prevent confusion and help identify any correctable issues.
Team Mentality
Raiding requires the teamwork of 25 individuals and we expect our raiders to be there for the team rather than for egocentric motives. Selfish individuals only interested in their own toons need not apply.
Consistency
Consistent attendance and performance is a critical component in any successful raider. High attendance (90+%) is a necessity for any applicant interested in securing a spot in our core raids. We also expect that every raid and every pull you will be performing at your best. Raiders are also expected to come to raid prepared (food, flasks, etc.) and on time.
Morale
Raid morale is an integral component in overall guild performance as well. Raids don't always go as planned, but during a difficult boss it's important to remember that you're raiding with friends. An She Guild Chat contains a great deal of mature and explicit subject matter. It is, however, a politically correct environment. It is expected that all guild members are mature adults and as such guild members may use any obscenities they wish so long as the terms they use are not derogatory. Offensive terms that refer to any particular minority in an offensive way in Guild, Raid, or Vent will not be tolerated.
Application Tips:
We expect all applicants to be up to date on current theorycrafting of their class and apply that information to their toon.
Your gear says a lot about your dedication to your toon - missing easily crafted or obtained gear will not reflect well on your application. Likewise, don't slack on enchant or gem quality. If you aren't putting forth the effort to enchant, gem, spec, glyph, and reforge to maximize your character, we have no reason to expect anything different from you in the future. Saying that you don't want to put forth that effort until after being accepted is
NOT a valid excuse.
Raiders are expected to use add-ons to assist them with raiding. Your UI should contain both a threat mod and a boss mod (at
minimum), and the application should note them.
An She is a guild for mature adults (18+). If you are under 18, you will have to provide us with enough reason why you should be an exception.
Your application is your first impression to the guild. Incomplete sentences, one-word responses, and grammar fails will not provide a good impression. Take your time responding to our application questions and submit an app that reflects well on you.
You must be max-level to apply. We don't want to hear how you're convinced you'll be able to top our meters as soon as you hit max-level.
Be sure to log out in your main spec gear after applying. Otherwise, we will not be able to evaluate your application in a timely matter.
You should expect a response in roughly a week; obviously, if your character is not prepared for end-game content, it is unlikely that you will be considered. If your application grants further consideration, you will be contacted by an officer to schedule a Ventrilo interview.
